Vitiligo Insights at Pediatric Dermatology
The XXIV National Conference on Dermatology for Pediatricians took place on May 24 and 25, 2024, at the PalaCongressi in Riccione. Aimed primarily at general and hospital pediatricians, this esteemed event offered invaluable scientific updates to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in pediatric dermatology. Led by Professor Fabio Arcangeli, former Director of Dermatology in Rimini and Cesena, the conference featured interactive sessions covering a wide range of dermatological conditions.
One of the standout moments was Professor Torello Lotti’s excellent presentation on the aesthetic approach to vitiligo, delivered in collaboration with the Vitiligo Research Foundation. This session captivated the audience, especially those interested in innovative treatments for this socially impactful condition.
With over 1,200 attendees, the conference continued its tradition of practical, high-quality discussions. The program included thematic sessions on recognizing elementary lesions and diagnostic reasoning in pediatric dermatology. Another highlight was Professor Diego Peroni's engaging talk on the dietary management of dermatological manifestations of cow's milk protein allergy.
On Friday afternoon, the "Nutrition, Digestive System, and Skin" forum provided valuable insights, while two interactive update courses on dermoscopy, Wood's lamp examination, bandaging, minor outpatient surgery, and pathological scar prevention and treatment offered hands-on learning opportunities. These courses, limited to 100 participants per group, allowed attendees to engage in specific diagnostic and therapeutic paths with expert guidance.
Overall, the XXIV National Conference on Dermatology for Pediatricians was a resounding success, offering a comprehensive and interactive platform for advancing pediatric dermatological care.
