Using methotrexate in the treatment of advanced vitiligo

Methotrexate has shown potential as a treatment for advanced vitiligo, particularly in cases of rapidly progressing or unstable disease. It works by interfering with DNA synthesis and inducing apoptosis in active CD4+ T cells, while also reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines and increasing anti-inflammatory cytokines.
