In collaboration with Frontiers in Medicine (Q1, IF 3.1), we are excited to announce a special call for papers Vitiligo: From Obscurity to Spotlight – Advancing Care with New Therapies and AI focusing on the latest advancements in vitiligo research.
Over the past decade, vitiligo has transitioned from obscurity to a key topic in dermatology. This special issue will explore emerging trends in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.
Recent evidence highlights the success of both on-label and off-label therapies, while collaboration between biopharma, academia, and non-profits is helping to align patient expectations with realistic outcomes. A major breakthrough in vitiligo care is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). These AI tools are enhancing diagnostic accuracy, guiding treatment decisions, and predicting outcomes for patients with diverse skin types.
This Research Topic aims to assess how AI innovations and new therapies can improve patient outcomes across various settings, from hospitals to at-home care and follow-up. We also aim to identify societal, medical, and technological factors affecting the quality of life for vitiligo patients, particularly those at higher risk of relapse.
We invite submissions that explore the role of AI in vitiligo care, recent drug developments, and strategies to improve patient management. Submit your original research, case studies, clinical trials, and more to contribute to this important field of study.
Manuscript submission deadline: 12 December 2024
