The vibrant landscape of Kazakhstan recently witnessed the resounding success of World Vitiligo Day 2023. From June 23rd to June 26th, the event, under the exceptional leadership of Dr. Aliya Kassymkhanova and Dr. Anar Abdrakhmanova, brought together individuals who shared a common purpose - advancing the vitiligo dialogue.
Participants engaged with a plethora of dynamic activities in six cities across Kazakhstan: Almaty, Astana, Kyzul-orda, Semei, Shymkent and Uralsk. The live demonstration of microsurgery procedure was held at Vitiligo & Skin Health clinic for dermatologists and recorded as educational video. The scientific session further shed light on the complexities of vitiligo management for over 300 dermatologists and over 400 online viewers in Almaty alone, and dozens at each additional location. The heartwarming Vitiligo School in Shymkent created a memorable experience for dozens of patients and their caretakers, fostering a sense of community and support.
This gathering served as a global platform, uniting individuals from around the world who are dedicated to improving the lives of people with vitiligo. The success of WVD 2023 in Central Asia, as well as in China, the European Union, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to raising awareness and nurturing a supportive global community for vitiligo patients.
As we embark on the exciting journey to the World Vitiligo Day 2024 ahead, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have been part of this incredible experience in 2023. Stay tuned for what lies ahead, as we continue to make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by vitiligo.
