Deucravacitinib for nonsegmental vitiligo
Official title: Vitiligo Treatment by Targeting TYK2 Mediated Responses Prospective Multicentric Double Blind Interventional Study
Status: Closed to new participants
Description:
Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice plans to enroll about 128 participants. Deucravacitinib blocks TYK2, an immune enzyme involved in inflammatory signaling. Researchers hope it will reduce the immune attack on melanocytes and improve skin color. Deucravacitinib is sold as Sotyktu and is approved for plaque psoriasis; vitiligo would be a new use. Possible effects include respiratory infections, headache, acne, and mouth sores. People ages 18 to 75 may qualify. The study is underway but is no longer accepting new participants.
